Theme Name : “Damn Ugly”
Version: 0.5
Hi there if you see a funny looking theme, with weird sidebox headers, then you should leave a comment and tell me what you think about the layout and design of my “damn ugly” theme!! all comments are appreciated!! the new theme will run for about an hour then I’m going to switch back to the known layout!
UPDATE
Thanks to valerie’s comments I have narrowed don’t the height of the banner, and have to say that it looks much better at the moment, there are some other design factors that need modification, but I’m happy with it, so this will be the theme I’m going to use for this blog!

I have been looking all over the web for patterns, I was stunned by some websites, and very disappointed by others.
My idea was to make an top 10 but got stuck at 6, 2 of these share the first place because both have an large set of patterns and yet so different from each other!
SquidFingers

Squidfingers offers 158 retro styled patterns (and counting)
DinPattern

DinPattern is probably the best resource for “modern” patterns, they look nice and new patterns are added on daily base

Tonight I didn’t feel like programming so I decided to work on the theme/layout for RetroLog.net, although the core is far from finished, I had just enough to run a local demo and prepare a design. now 4 hours later I think I’ve a final version for the theme.
I’ve chosen for a clean dark/black design with soft night-blue and some green to break the design. It doesn’t look very web 2.0-ish and no cool graphics to stare at, but I want to honor the name of the project and keep it minimalistic and retro like websites once looked like. lets say it has to be a little ugly to be beautiful.
If nothing goes wrong a first beta will be launched around the first week in april, website will start as an invitation only for the first month to debug the main part, after that registration will open to the masses and everyone can start using it. If you would like to be invited for the beta just leave a comment.
